Immediate Past President at National League of Cities

Vince Williams serves as the mayor of Union City, Georgia, and as the Immediate Past President of the National League of Cities (NLC). Mayor Williams’ involvement with NLC began after his election to the Union City Council in 2007, and continued when he was elected as mayor in 2013. In addition to his position as NLC president, Williams has served on the NLC Board of Directors, Board Finance Committee, Executive Committee and as a NLC University Leadership Fellow. When Williams was elected to the City Council, his first priority as a Councilmember was to create a strong economic base for Union City by attracting, professional and commercial business that would transform the city into a full-scale, financially sound livable community. Taking the office of Mayor in May 2013, Vince R. Williams became Union City’s twentieth mayor. As the sitting Mayor Pro-Tem, he was elevated to the office after resignation of his predecessor. In November 2013 he was elected to the office of Mayor.
