Michael Mrozinski

Michael Mrozinski has a diverse range of work experience. Michael started their career as a Legal Assistant at Hetherington, Karpel, Bobber & Miller, LLC, where they handled client interviews and communication for various legal cases. Michael then worked as a Summer Law Clerk at The Equity Project, National Juvenile Defender Center, where they researched and compared policies on LGBT youth in the juvenile justice system. After that, they served as a Student Advocate at the Georgetown Law International Women's Human Rights Clinic, where they researched and produced reports and draft legislation on women and domestic workers' rights in Uganda.

Michael also worked as a Research Assistant at Georgetown University Law Center, where they researched racial discrimination issues. Michael was a Law Fellow at the United States Senate and a Student Intern at The AIRE Centre, where they collaborated on projects related to European human rights advocacy.

In 2016, Michael worked as a Legal Consultant at the National Juvenile Defender Center, drafting legal memoranda and analyzing state statutes on juveniles' due process rights. Michael then became a Law Clerk at the Law Office of Thomas A. Hart, Jr., where they drafted court pleadings and conducted legal research for various cases.

From 2017, Michael joined the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts as a Field Survey Team Leader and Survey Assistant. Michael trained surveyors and conducted surveys at political protests and demonstrations in Washington, DC, to assist in research.

Currently, Michael holds the position of Legal Director, Defender Legal Services and Strategic Policy Initiatives at the National Legal Aid and Defender Association. Michael previously served as a Staff Attorney and Consultant at the same organization, providing programmatic assistance and developing grant proposals for criminal justice reform.

Michael Mrozinski completed their education at various institutions. Michael received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and Linguistics from the University of Chicago, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. In 2008, they took part in a Study Abroad program at Tsinghua University, focusing on Chinese Language.

After completing their undergraduate degree, Mrozinski attended Georgetown University Law Center. From 2012 to 2015, they pursued a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree and also obtained a Certificate in Transnational Law. In 2014, they participated in a Study Abroad program at the Center for Transnational Legal Studies, specializing in Transnational Law.

In May 2017, Mrozinski obtained a Law License from the Supreme Court of Illinois, adding to their educational achievements.
