Laura Leonard

Laura Leonard is an experienced fundraising professional with a strong background in managing portfolios and securing grants from trusts and statutory funders. Currently serving as the Fundraising Manager for Trusts & Statutory at the National Literacy Trust, Laura oversees a diverse portfolio exceeding £2 million and is responsible for writing successful grant applications to major funders such as DCMS and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Prior to this role, Laura worked as the Trusts and Foundations Manager at Watts Gallery, managing a portfolio of approximately £500,000, and as a Development Officer at Edinburgh Science, where relationship-building with corporate and trust supporters was key. Laura also held positions at the National Mining Museum Scotland Trust and the British Museum, enhancing fundraising strategies and operational support. Laura holds a Master of Arts in Public History from Royal Holloway, University of London, and a degree in History from the University of Southampton.
