Stuart Laidlaw

Stuart Laidlaw is currently the Head of Operations at the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland and a Knowledge Exchange Fellow at the Advanced Forming Research Centre, University of Strathclyde. With a background in metallurgy and engineering materials, Stuart has extensive experience in industrial research, development, and innovation. Throughout his career, Stuart has held various roles in quality and process engineering, product expertise, and metallurgical and analytical services management, demonstrating his expertise in practical implementation of innovation projects and support mechanisms for SMEs in the manufacturing industry. As a Principal Materials Technologist and Process Metallurgist, Stuart specialized in performance and failure analysis of engine components and continuous casting of non-ferrous alloys. His educational background includes a BEng in Metallurgy and Engineering Materials from the University of Strathclyde.
