Karima J. Mariama-Arthur, Esq. serves as the Chief Executive Officer of WordSmithRapport™, a consulting firm specializing in leadership development and organizational performance, since January 2012. With extensive experience as Corporate Counsel at the D.C. Bar since December 2002, Karima's practice encompasses compliance, governance, civil litigation, international transactions, and appellate law. In addition to contributions as an author of "Poised For Excellence," which was a 2019 NAACP Image Award nominee, Karima engages in academia as a facilitator and lecturer at Cornell University, as well as an ESG faculty member at The Corporate Governance Institute. Present roles include Program Lead at both Wharton Executive Education and Columbia Business School, along with serving as an Independent Director and Board Advisor Mentor at Connectd, and faculty at the National Minority Supplier Development Council. Karima holds a Juris Doctor from Roger Williams University School of Law, a Fellowship from Cornell University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Government from the University of California, Davis.
