Eric Estes

Eric Estes is an experienced IT Security Program Manager and Information Systems Security Officer at NOAA, contributing to the cybersecurity program for a nationwide 400Gbps MPLS network since October 2007. With a focus on compliance with NIST 800-53 and FISMA frameworks, Eric has led teams in security operations, vulnerability management, and the implementation of routing security technologies. Notably, Eric spearheaded a multi-agency initiative for the adoption of RPKI, recognized in a White House publication. Prior to NOAA, Eric held roles at Harland Financial Solutions and Electronic Data Systems, specializing in IT security and network engineering. Eric holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor's degree in Biological Science from Colorado State University.
