Kirsten Larsen serves as the Marine Ecosystems Section Chief at NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a position held since July 2005. With extensive experience in fisheries habitat science, Kirsten has been instrumental in coordinating and evaluating national programs related to fisheries habitats and ecosystem services management. Kirsten's past roles include acting Deputy Director of the NOS Hollings Marine Laboratory, Deputy Chief of Staff for NESDIS, and a Deputy Director for Administration for the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council. Kirsten's academic background includes a Master of Science in Biology from The University of Southern Mississippi and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
