M. Refik Orhun

M. Refik Orhun is a highly experienced Research Fishery Biologist at the NOAA National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, specializing in data analysis, life history, fish ecology, fisheries oceanography, and marine aquaculture within the Caribbean Fisheries Branch. Previously, M. Refik Orhun worked at Sciencefish focusing on seafood quality assurance and marine aquaculture, served as Associate Scientist and Director of the Marine Fish Hatchery at the University of Miami, managed hatchery production for sustainable fisheries at Hubbs Sea World Research Institute, and conducted research on marine fish larvae at NOAA Southwest Fisheries Science Center. M. Refik Orhun holds a Doctorate in Fisheries Oceanography from the University of Miami and an MSc in Physiology of Marine Fish Larvae from San Diego State University, complemented by earlier academic achievements in Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry.
