Tara Garwood

Tara Garwood is a seasoned producer, director, and owner of Tarakata Films since March 2011, an independent production company based in Washington, DC, that focuses on character-driven films and specializes in weddings and promotional videos. Additionally, since October 2022, Tara has served as the Communications & Multimedia Lead at NOAA. Other entrepreneurial ventures include Banner Day Films, LLC, established in January 2017, dedicated to creating marketing videos for small businesses and nonprofits. Tara's extensive freelance experience as an actor includes membership in SAG-AFTRA and AEA, with notable roles in productions such as "Women’s Studies" and HBO's "Game Change." Previous experience spans diverse roles in multimedia production for organizations such as LMI, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the U.S. Secret Service, and the FDA. Tara is also the founder of OuterLoop Films and Molotov Theatre Group, the latter focusing on reviving the French theatre of horror. Educational background includes a BFA in Musical Theatre from Jacksonville University and a certificate in Digital Filmmaking from Boston University's Center for Digital Imaging Arts.
