Becky Hickman is an experienced payroll and benefits professional with a strong background in managing payroll operations across various organizations. Currently serving as a Pay and Benefits Partner at the National Oceanography Centre since December 2020, Becky previously held the position of Payroll Advisor at CeramTec UK Ltd, where the management of UK payroll for three sites and 300 employees was undertaken. Notable achievements include successfully project managing the transition of IFS payroll to SAGE 50. Prior roles include Payroll and Benefits Supervisor at Emerson, where integration of payroll systems was executed, and Payroll Manager at Emerson Network Power, overseeing a large payroll operation. Additionally, Becky worked as an Accounts Payable Supervisor at IBM. Education includes a BA Hons in Business Studies from Southampton Solent University and further studies at the International Association of Book Keeping and Learn Centre.

The National Oceanography Centre is an independent self-governing organisation - a charitable company limited by guarantee. The NOC is funded by UK Research and Innovation to work on National Capability programmes, and manages on its behalf, the National Marine Equipment Pool - Europe’s largest fleet of autonomous and robotic vehicles, and two state of the art research ships RRS Discovery and RRS James Cook. The NOC has two sites, Southampton and Liverpool, and employs around 650 staff. We are co-located at both sites with leading UK Universities, giving us a unique position in UK marine research.
