As stewards of awareness and positive change, we've been led by Director General Garba Abari since May 2016. Our History Established under Decree 100 of 1993, our mission is to enhance public understanding of government initiatives. Through features that cover a spectrum of vital aspects, we aim to mobilize public opinion, encourage informal education, provide feedback to the government, foster respect for authority, and instill loyalty to the nation. Mission Our mission is to consistently raise awareness, provide timely and credible feedback, positively change attitudes, values, and behaviors, accurately inform, and mobilize citizens for actions that promote peace, harmony, and national development. Vision We aspire to develop a Nigerian society that is orderly, responsible, and disciplined, upholding core values of honesty, hard work, and patriotism. Our vision includes promoting democratic principles, ideals, peace, and social harmony. Objectives In alignment with Decree 100 of 1993, our objectives include mobilizing favorable public opinion, encouraging informal education, establishing feedback channels, fostering respect for authority, and instilling loyalty to the fatherland. We aim to create a national framework that educates, orients, and indoctrinates Nigerians toward values that project national pride. Functions Our agency performs various functions, including promoting national unity, citizen commitment to human rights, leadership by example, and the development of social and cultural values that encourage patriotism, nationalism, self-discipline, and self-reliance.
