Hemant Verma

Mr. Hemant Verma is presently working as General Manager- Information Technology Division, Punjab National Bank. He is presently tasked to align the information Technology strategy with the Business Strategy of the Bank and implement such technology driven initiatives that so as to ensure overall technology driven easy and efficient Banking experience for all.

With more than 29 years of experience, he has been a successful General Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the Banking Technology, skilled in Data Warehousing, Data Centre Management, Data Analysis, Network, Information Security, Project & Vendor Management and Business Development, where he has brought about technological advancement in the Banking Industry.

In his previous postings he has worked as Chief Technology Officer in Oriental Bank of Commerce thereby heading IT department of the Bank and responsible for all IT developments, Data-centres and IT infrastructure across Bank. He has headed the project of Enterprise Data Warehouse which also includes Enterprise fraud risk management, Early warning signal & Risk based supervision, while working as Deputy General Manager in OBC and has headed Data centre operations as AGM due to his hands-on knowledge and experience of working in Networking and security domain during his initial years of banking.

Some of his key Professional achievements in the areas of Technology and payment system, transaction processing, banking related functions, etc. are in the form of the following awards won by him: The Asian Banker Financial Technology Innovation Awards 2021, Finnoviti awards 2021, IBA Banking technology 2019-20, ET-BFSI Excellence awards 2020 and SKOCH Awards 2020.

Academically he has completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Nagpur University.
