Jayaprakash C

Mr. Jayaprakash C took charge as Chairman of Kerala Gramin Bank (KGB), one of the largest Regional Rural Bank in India, from 7th December 2020. KGB was formed by amalgamating erstwhile North Malabar Gramin Bank and erstwhile South Malabar Gramin Bank on 8th July 2013.

Mr. Jayaprakash C joined Canara Bank as Agriculture Extension officer in 1995 served in different capacities in the Bank upto General Manager. He has at around 26 years (25 years 10 months) of Operational experience encompassing Metro, Urban, Semi Urban, Rural branches/offices of Canara Bank in addition to heading the RRB as Chairman. Credit being his main domain he has well experience in Agriculture, MSME, Retail and Mid Corporate credit apart from rich experience in Retail Branch Banking. He has a Cross country exposure in states like Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Kerala. He has rich experience in heading the Large, Very Large and Mid-Corporate branches apart from Heading Business verticals like MSME Hubs at Bangalore and Trichy and Retail Hub at Pune and Tumkur. He was also a Lead District Manager of Hassan district in Karnataka for 4 years. He has successfully worked as Head of a Regional Office at Hassan and Circle Office at Jaipur and stint at MSME Wing Head Office Canara Bank handling MSME policy and MSME Credit Development of Bank.

Mr. Jayaprakash C possesses BFSc (Bachelor of Fisheries Science), CAIIB from Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, Mumbai, Diploma in Advanced Rural Banking from IIB, Mumbai, Certificate in MSME Credit from IIB&F, Mumbai and has attended senior level training programs at NIBM Pune, NIMSME Hyderabad, XLRI Jamshedpur and IDBRT Hyderabad, etc.
