Ian Cubbin

Ian Cubbin represents NPA members from Merseyside and Cheshire. He studied at Sunderland School of Pharmacy, qualifying in 1980. He initially joined the family firm – James Cubbin & Sons – and later read his doctorate jointly at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and the University of Sunderland. When he returned to the North West, he became a teacher practitioner at John Moores University.

Ian is currently Managing Director of James Cubbin & Son who operate five pharmacies in the Wirral. Among a number of other posts Ian is also the PSNC representative for the Mersey region and a member of the Board of Assessors for the GPhC. Ian is Chairman of the Trustees of the Health Education Foundation which is a charitable arm of the NPA which awards annual bursaries for research and provides educational workshops for members. Currently he also Chairs the working group which is reviewing the governance processes of the Board of Management and the organisation.
