Olivia Ren joined the National Philharmonic as orchestra librarian in July, 2022. As librarian, Olivia oversees all aspects of music acquisition. Prior to the National Philharmonic, Olivia was the orchestra librarian for the Capital City Symphony in Washington, D.C., and was also assistant librarian for the Apollo Orchestra. She currently is the principal librarian at the National Orchestral Institute and Festival, hosted by the University of Maryland, which fosters the rising talents of the next generation of classical musicians. Olivia is also a violinist, and has performed with groups all over the D.C. metro area. She has a Bachelor of Arts in violin performance degree from Case Western Reserve University, in association with the Cleveland Institute of Music, and a Master of Music degree from the University of Maryland.
