Claire J Elliott has a diverse work experience background. Claire J started their career in 2002 as a Research Laboratory Technician at Reckitt Benckiser, where they focused on exploring new innovations. In 2008, they became a Trustee at the British Federation of Film Societies, where they were involved in student outreach activities and later became the chair of the national charity. Since 2010, Claire has been working at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), initially as a Higher Research Scientist and later as a Senior Research Scientist. In their roles at NPL, they supported UK business and industry by applying measurement knowledge, with a focus on temperature and humidity measurement, as well as conducting novel research. Claire is also enthusiastic about the dissemination of knowledge in the field of metrology.

Claire J Elliott completed their education at The University of Sheffield. Claire J obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics from 2007 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned an MPhys degree in Chemical Physics from 2003 to 2007. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the MHFA Lite certification from Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England in an undisclosed month of 2017.
