Katy Fairchild is an accomplished cybersecurity leader with extensive experience in both information security and IT operations. Currently serving as Chief Information Security Officer at the National Physical Laboratory since September 2025, Katy previously held the position of Chief Information & Security Officer at GlobalData Plc, where strategic leadership was provided for cyber security and IT operations. At BAE Systems, Katy advanced from Systems Engineer Graduate to Head of Cyber Security Governance Risk and Compliance, overseeing the implementation of a comprehensive cyber security strategy. Katy's academic background includes a Master of Science in Data Science from the University of Southampton and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Birmingham, complemented by a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Southampton.
