Bill Even

Bill Even has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Bill currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Pork Board, a position they have held since 2016. Prior to this role, they worked at Even Farms, a fifth-generation family-owned farming operation, where they served as a Co-Owner since 1983. At Even Farms, Bill was involved in various activities including crop and livestock raising, farm equipment repair, and serving on multiple advisory boards.

Before joining Even Farms, Bill worked at DuPont Pioneer from 2010 to 2016. During their tenure, they held two roles. Firstly, as the Commercial Unit Lead for South Dakota, eastern North Dakota, and northwest Minnesota, they led a team of over 350 sales representatives and employees responsible for seed sales, marketing, agronomy, precision agriculture, and research. Secondly, as the Global Industry Relations Lead, they managed the corporate industry relations team, focusing on stakeholder relationships in biotechnology, product regulatory approvals, agricultural sustainability, biofuels, and farm policy.

Prior to their time at DuPont Pioneer, Bill held the position of Secretary of Agriculture for the State of South Dakota from 2007 to 2010. In this role, they led six divisions within the department and was responsible for setting the department's vision, goals, and legislative priorities.

Overall, Bill Even has a strong background in agriculture and leadership, with experience in various sectors such as farming, seed sales, and government administration.

Bill Even graduated from Drake University Law School with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree in Ag Food and Policy Law with High Honors from 2002 to 2005. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree with Highest Honors from South Dakota State University from 1999 to 2001, majoring in Agricultural Business with minors in Economics and Business. Bill also attended Lake Area Technical College from 1983 to 1985, where they earned an Associate's Degree in Agricultural Production and was on the Dean's List.
