Ed Simpson is an experienced professional in buying, product development, and the arts, currently serving as Buying and Product Development Manager at the National Portrait Gallery since June 2021, alongside the role of Buyer. As a co-founder of 510 Laundry, Ed focuses on reinterpreting vintage textiles and homeware for modern living across Edinburgh and London. Previous roles include Product Team Assistant at The New Craftsmen, Assistant Buyer at Tate, and Artist at SPACE Studios, where multimedia artistic practices were explored. Early career experiences include internships and freelance positions at institutions such as the Serpentine Gallery, Frieze, and Gagosian Gallery, as well as a Sales and Style Advisor position at MR PORTER. Ed holds an MFA in Art, Space and Nature from Edinburgh College of Art and an MA in Fine Art from The University of Edinburgh.
