Autumn Saxton-Ross, PhD has an extensive work experience history. Their current role is as the Chief Education & Equity Officer at the National Recreation and Park Association, a position they have held since July 2023. Prior to this, they served as the VP of Education & Chief Equity Officer at the same organization from September 2020 to July 2023. Dr. Saxton-Ross also worked as a Lecturer at The George Washington University's Milken Institute School of Public Health starting in April 2014. From 2016 to 2020, they held the position of Director, Mid Atlantic | Equity, Inclusion & Diversity Lead at NatureBridge, where they provided strategic leadership for the sustainable growth of NatureBridge programs in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Before that, Dr. Saxton-Ross served as the Program Director, Place-based Initiatives at The National Collaborative for Health Equity from March 2013 to December 2015. Prior to that, they held various roles in the fields of health, wellness, and education at organizations such as the DC Department of Health, Community College of the University of the District of Columbia, Washington Parks and People, Montgomery County Recreation Department, and DC Department of Parks and Recreation.

Autumn Saxton-Ross, PhD, completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Exercise Science from The George Washington University, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Public Health Education and Promotion at Howard University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Dedicated to their academic journey, Autumn Saxton-Ross continued at Howard University to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Sociology, which they completed from 2004 to 2009.
