Mr. Shamim Ahmad Khan served in senior positions in the Government, particularly in the Ministry of Finance, and retired as Secretary, Ministry of Commerce. For ten years, he worked in Corporate Law Authority, the regulatory body for the corporate sector as Member and later as Chairman. He restructured it as Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and became its first Chairman. Presently, he is serving as a director on the Boards of IGI Holdings Limited, Pakistan Oilfields Limited, Attock Refinery Limited, and Attock Cement Pakistan Limited. He is also Chairman of IGI Life Insurance and IGI General Insurance. Mr. Khan has also undertaken a number of consultancy assignments for the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, and DFID.

National Refinery Limited is a Pakistan-based company, which is engaged in the manufacturing, production and sale of range of petroleum products. The Company operates through various segments, which include FUEL and LUBE. The FUEL segment is a supplier of fuel products, and offers gasoline, diesel oils and furnace oil. The LUBE segment provides various types of lube base oils, asphalt, wax free oil and other petroleum products for a range of sectors. The Company's fuel products include Motor Gasoline (MOGAS), Kerosene (SKO), High Speed diesel Oil (HSD), Light diesel oil (LDO), Furnace Oil (F.O), Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Naphtha (For Export). Its lube base oil products include 65N-HVI, 100N-HVI, 150N-HVI, 400N-HVI, 500N-HVI, BS-HVI, 650N-MVI, BS MVI and SPINDLE OIL. Its projects include Diesel De-sulphurization Unit and Naphtha Isomerization Project. It also produces specialty products, which include Benzene, Toluene, Xylene, Wax, Slack Wax, Rubber Process Oil and Extract Oil.
