Alon Lidor

Alon Lidor is a highly experienced mechanical engineer and researcher with a strong background in renewable energy systems and thermochemical energy conversion. Currently serving as a Researcher IV at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory since July 2023, Lidor previously held significant positions at ETH Zürich, where notable work included the development of solar redox reactors and advanced system analysis for solar fuels production. Lidor's academic journey encompasses postdoctoral research supported by a Marie Curie Fellowship and prior roles at prestigious institutions like the German Aerospace Center and Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, where contributions spanned from protein folding mechanics to propulsion systems for micro aerial vehicles. Lidor's extensive inspection experience further includes roles at various certification and consulting firms, ensuring compliance with industry standards for pressure vessels. Lidor holds a PhD and MSc in Aerospace Engineering, as well as a BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
