Dan Beckley

Associate Lab Director, Facilities & Operations at National Renewable Energy Laboratory

Dan Beckley leads several operations-focused organizations at NREL, including site operations; environment, safety, health, and quality; security and emergency preparedness; and information technology.

Beckley is also leading the next phase of NREL’s campus construction, including the Research and Innovation Laboratory. He will help ensure that NREL continues to have world-class facilities and operations that support the laboratory’s mission and expand new research capabilities.

Beckley joined NREL in 2010, most recently serving as research operations director for Mechanical and Thermal Engineering Sciences and acting center director for Buildings and Thermal Sciences. Previously, he was NREL’s Buildings Technologies laboratory program manager.

Prior to NREL, Beckley was a presidential management fellow in DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. After his fellowship, he served as senior advisor to its deputy assistant secretary. He has also spent time as a Peace Corps volunteer in El Salvador. Beckley has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in international environmental policy.
