Shahil Shah has a diverse work experience in the field of renewable energy and power electronics. Shahil began their career as a Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 2006. Shahil then worked as a Scientific Officer at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre from 2008 to 2011. Shahil then joined Siemens Corporate Research as a Lead Research Engineer from 2011 to 2012. Shahil briefly worked as a Consultant at GE in 2012.
From 2012 to 2018, Shahil worked at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as a Research Assistant, where they focused on developing methods for modeling and stability analysis of power electronic systems. During their time at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, they were recognized with the Allen B. DuMont award for their scholastic ability and contribution to the field.
In 2016 and 2017, Shahil worked as a Research Intern at MERL. Shahil then joined the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in 2018 as a Research Engineer and later served as a Senior Engineer. Currently, they hold the position of Principal Engineer at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
In addition to their academic and research roles, Shahil has also served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion since 2020.
Shahil Shah began their education in the field of Electrical Engineering, earning a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) degree from Government Engineering College between 2002 and 2006. Shahil then went on to pursue a Master of Technology (MTech) degree in Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur from 2006 to 2008. Shahil further advanced their education by pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they studied from 2012 to 2018.
