Sunilkumar Khandavalli

Sunilkumar Khandavalli is a researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, specializing in fuel cells and electrolyzer electrode inks, focusing on microstructure, ink composition optimization, rheology, and roll-to-roll processing since August 2017. Prior to this, Sunilkumar held a position as a graduate intern at TE Connectivity, where the analysis of electronics ink formulation composition and its processing in various printing methods was conducted. Sunilkumar also served as a graduate research assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, working on rheology of shear thickening particle dispersions and developing hierarchical superhydrophobic surfaces through roll-to-roll nanoimprint lithography from June 2012 to July 2017. Earlier experience includes a role as a project associate at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, focusing on the rheology of ionic polymer gels. Sunilkumar holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
