Xin Jin

Xin Jin has a diverse work experience in the field of renewable energy, research, and technology. Xin started their career as a Research Assistant at Pennsylvania State University, where they developed signal processing and machine learning algorithms for cyber-physical systems and autonomous vehicles. Xin also worked on health monitoring techniques for aerospace systems and nuclear power plants.

Xin Jin then joined Bosch Research and Technology Center as a Research Intern, where they focused on developing signal processing algorithms for non-intrusive load monitoring. Xin implemented these algorithms in a real-time prototype system and assisted in technology transfer to Bosch business units in Germany.

Xin later worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory as a Postdoctoral Researcher, supporting the development of fault detection and diagnostics systems for smart appliances. Additionally, they designed and implemented predictive control algorithms for heat pump water heaters to make them grid-interactive.

Xin Jin's education history begins in 2003 when they attended Shanghai Jiao Tong University. From 2003 to 2007, Xin Jin pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In 2006, they decided to further their education and attended Purdue University as a Visiting Student, focusing on Mechanical Engineering.

In 2007, Xin Jin enrolled at Penn State University, where they pursued multiple degrees simultaneously. From 2007 to 2010, they earned a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University. During the same period, from 2007 to 2009, Xin Jin also completed a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering at Penn State University. Lastly, from 2007 to 2012, Xin Jin pursued a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Penn State University.
