Lawrence Weiss CCC, CCE, ACE, AAC is an accomplished culinary arts educator with extensive experience in various roles within the culinary field. Currently serving as a Culinary Arts Teacher at Hampton Bays High School since September 2014, Weiss also fulfills the role of ServSafe Instructor and Proctor for the NRAEF since June 2012, and works as an Adjunct Chef Instructor of Culinary Arts at Suffolk County Community College. Weiss has been an Approved Certification Evaluator for the American Culinary Federation (ACF) since 2004, administering practical and written examinations for ACF Chef certifications. Previous positions include Past Chapter President for the ACF and Royal Caribbean International, Executive Chef at Rich Rewards Caterers, and Restaurant Manager at Dover Caterers. Weiss holds a New York State Teacher Certification in Education and an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Culinary Arts.

As the philanthropic foundation of the National Restaurant Association, the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation’s mission of service to the public is dedicated to enhancing the industry’s training and education, career development and community engagement efforts. The NRAEF and its programs work to ATTRACT, EMPOWER and ADVANCE today’s and tomorrow’s restaurant and foodservice workforce. NRAEF programs include: ProStart® – a high-school career and technical education program; Restaurant Ready – partnering with community based organizations to provide “opportunity youth” with skills training and job opportunities; Military – helping military servicemen and women transition their skills to restaurant and foodservice careers; Scholarships – financial assistance for students pursuing restaurant, foodservice and hospitality degrees; and, the Hospitality Sector Registered Apprenticeship Project – a partnership with the American Hotel & Lodging Association providing a hospitality apprenticeship program for the industry.
