Rachel Helgeson has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Rachel started their career in 2017 as a Local Tourism Blogger for Visit Eau Claire. In 2018, they interned as a News Reporter at Forum Communications Co., where they covered spot news, crime, meetings, events, and wrote feature stories for multiple newspapers. Rachel also took photos and videos for online content and contributed to annual magazine publications. From 2019 to 2020, Rachel worked as a Government, Public Safety, and Features Reporter & Photographer at Forum Communications Co. Rachel then joined the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire as a Reporter for "The Spectator" and later served as a Psychology Department Clerical Assistant. In 2020, they worked as a Travel Writer for Travel Leaders Group and as a Public Affairs Volunteer for the American Red Cross. Rachel also worked as a Marketing Content Creator for Austin Adventures from 2020 to 2021. In 2021, Rachel became a Digital Managing Editor at Townsquare Media, where they later advanced to the role of Regional Digital Managing Editor in 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Features Writer at Super Lawyers, which is part of Thomson Reuters, since February 2023. Throughout their career, Rachel has gained experience in writing, reporting, content creation, and editorial management.

Rachel Helgeson completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism & Multimedia Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, graduating between 2015 and 2018. During their time at university, they participated in a Study Abroad program at the University of Limerick in 2017. In 2018, they also completed the iEi Media Summer Program in International Journalism at Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna.

Prior to their university education, Rachel attended Baldwin-Woodville High School. Rachel has also obtained additional certifications, including SEO Foundations and Social Media Marketing Tips from LinkedIn in September 2021. Furthermore, in May 2009, they completed the Hunter Safety certification offered by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
