Bill Arendt

CFO at National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative

Bill serves as NRTC’s chief financial officer. Prior to joining NRTC, he spent eight years as CFO for Vubiquity Inc. (previously Avail-TVN), a digital media company. Bill has extensive experience in the digital media and telecommunications industries including more than 12 years with Nextel Communications Inc. as senior vice president and corporate controller.

Following the Sprint Nextel merger, Bill was SVP and corporate controller of the combined entity and then Sprint Nextel’s interim CFO. Bill directed key finance areas, was responsible for all aspects of the accounting functions and managed the shared services organization for the global $40 billion telecommunications company.

He has held upper management positions at Pocket Communications Inc., American Mobile Satellite Corp. and Ernst & Young. Bill was named 2011 CFO of the Year, Technology and Life Sciences by Washington Business Journal.

Bill was born in Cleveland, OH, and graduated from John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is a certified public accountant. He is married and has two grown daughters.
