A K L Illesinghe is the current Deputy GM, IT & CIO at National Savings Bank. Prior to this, they were with Peoples Bank, Sri Lanka for 11 years from January 1996 to December 2007, where they last served as the Assistant Manager - IT.

A K L Illesinghe's educational career includes a Master's Degree in Information Technology from the University of Colombo, a Master's Degree in Computer Technology/Computer Systems Technology from the University of Colombo, and an MBA, M.Sc-IT, PG Diploma(CS), B.Sc.(Hons), from Richmond College, Galle. A K L Illesinghe also has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in ICT from Malaysia University of Science and Technology, and a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Information Technology from Malaysia University of Science and Technology. Finally, A K L Illesinghe has a Bachelor's Degree in Maths from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Kelaniya Sri Lanka.
