Doug Frankel began his executive search career in the life science industries in 1991 and he joined National Search Associates in 1993. As part of the Executive Leadership team Doug develops business strategies and drives change within the organization. He is currently leading the firms retained search division and is also responsible for mentoring, developing, and managing a group of Search Directors and Recruiters. With over twenty years of life science recruiting, Doug understands the challenges of executive search and the intricacies of managing the search process.
Doug has successfully completed numerous executive-level assignments, supporting major clients in global pharmaceutical corporations, select biotechnology companies, diagnostic organizations, as well as premier academic and research institutes.
In his search work, Doug specializes in recruiting across disciplines within Research and Development, with particular focus in Pharmaceutical Development, Clinical Development and Medical Affairs. He has significant experience placing physicians across the development spectrum in multiple therapeutic areas including Oncology, Cardiovascular, Metabolic Disease, Neuroscience, Immunology, and Infectious Disease.
With Doug’s knowledge of the marketplace and industry trends he brings a unique perspective to his search process, and has built lasting partnerships with clients and candidates as well. He is committed to consistently delivering results that often exceed the expectations of both clients and candidates.
Doug was born in New York and raised in California. He attended the University of California at Irvine and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree.
