Pangkhuri Borgohain serves as the General Manager of Industry Collaboration and Apprenticeship at the National Skill Development Corporation since September 2018, leading initiatives in industry partnerships and managing apprenticeship programs. Previously, Pangkhuri held positions as Associate/Deputy Head, overseeing the Industry Relations and Apprenticeship department and specializing in curriculum within the Apprenticeship Division. Earlier roles include Principal Consultant and Consultant at the National Skill Development Agency, responsible for developing key skill policies and frameworks, conducting qualification workshops, and guiding state governments. Pangkhuri’s experience also includes project management at Employment Generation Mission in Assam, focusing on employment initiatives and skill development projects, and a brief stint as Channel Manager at Tigers Connect Travel Systems. Additionally, Pangkhuri began a career in customer service with Kingfisher Airlines before transitioning to the skill development sector.
National Skill Development Corporation
National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is a one-of-its-kind, Public Private Partnership (PPP) model in India, under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). It aims to promote skill development by catalyzing creation of large, quality and for-profit vocational institutions. NSDC provides funding to build scalable and profitable vocational training initiatives. Its mandate is to enable support system which focuses on quality assurance, information systems and train-the-trainer academies either directly or through partnerships. NSDC acts as a catalyst in skill development by providing funding to enterprises, companies and organizations that provide skill training. It will also develop appropriate models to enhance, support and coordinate private sector initiatives. The differentiated focus on 21 sectors under NSDC’s purview and its understanding of their viability will make every sector attractive to private investment.
