Will Urbanski (MT)

Director 2017-2020 at National Speleological Society

Will Urbanski is the current Director at the National Speleological Society. Prior to this, they worked as Lead Security Engineer - Active Defense at Datadog from November 2019 to June 2021. In this role, they were responsible for designing and implementing multi-cloud threat detection capabilities and leading incident response efforts. Will has also worked as Principal Consultant, Office of the CTO at Secureworks from October 2011 to November 2019. In this role, they built solutions for the next generation of security problems with a focus on cloud (IaaS+PaaS), application security (containers, serverless, and orchestration systems including Kubernetes), data science and analytics for security, and IoT/OT. Urbanski began their career in IT security as an Analyst at Virginia Tech IT Security Office and Lab from January 2010 to October 2011. Will then moved to the University of Georgia - Office of Information Security where they worked as an Information Security Associate from January 2006 to November 2009.

Will Urbanski (MT) has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Georgia. Will also has a certification from Hurricane Electric in IPv6 SAGE. Additionally, they are certified by Global Information Assurance Certification in GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT), GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN), and GIAC Advanced Penetration Tester (GXPN).
