James Palmer has over 30 years of work experience in various IT roles. James started their career in the Royal Air Force as a Senior Network Engineer and Software Development Engineer. James then moved on to work at Dyson as a Service Desk Manager, where they set up and managed a complete helpdesk operation. Following that, they worked at Xerox as a Technical Support Manager, where they managed the technical staff and provided support for integration projects. James then joined Panasonic UK as a Consultant and later worked as an IT Manager at Enviro Technology Services Plc, where they were responsible for the company's information infrastructure. Most recently, James worked at babblevoice as the Head of Service Delivery, overseeing the delivery of VOIP and IT support services. James is currently working at National Star as the Head of Information Technology, where they are responsible for the IT strategy and operational plan, system design, and managing a multidisciplinary IT team. Overall, James has a wealth of experience in IT management and support across different industries.

James Palmer's education history starts with their time at Stoke By Nayland Middle School, where they studied from 1976 to 1979. James then moved on to Great Cornard Upper School from 1979 to 1983, where they focused on subjects such as Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economics, Technology, and Computer Studies. In 1984 and 1985, they attended John Kyrle High School, specializing in Physics and Design and Technology.

Later, they pursued a degree in Computer Studies at the University of Gloucestershire from 1989 to 1991. After that, in 2003 and 2004, they returned to the University of Gloucestershire to complete a degree in Management Studies, with a focus on Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services.

In terms of certifications, James obtained the Certified Novell Administrator certification from Novell in October 1997. Subsequently, in February 2003, they received the 070-210 Installing, Configuring and administering Microsoft Windows certification from Microsoft. In the same month, they also obtained the 070-218 Managing Microsoft Windows Network Environments certification from Microsoft.

James continued their professional development by acquiring several Microsoft certifications. In October 2017, they obtained the 70-741 Networking with Windows Server 2016 certification. Then, in March 2018, they received the 70-742 Identity with Windows Server 2016 certification. In April 2018, they obtained both the 70-740 Installation, Storage, and Compute with Windows Server 2016 certification and the Windows Server 2016 MCSA certification. Lastly, in November 2018, they obtained the ITIL Foundation Certificate from AXELOS Global Best Practice and the SSCA certification from The SIP School in May 2015.
