Kate Varah

Executive Director at National Theatre

Kate Varah is the current Executive Director at National Theatre. Kate has held this position since November 2009. Prior to this, they were the Executive Director at The Old Vic from February 2006 to March 2008. Kate has also worked as a Consultant for Arts / Charity Consultancy from March 2008 to February 2009. Her clients included: Museum of Illustration; Venture Partnership Foundation; Chickenshed. Kate Varah began their career as the Community Investment Manager at Linklaters from September 1999 to February 2006.

Kate Varah went to Guildford High School for Girls and then to the University of Oxford where they got a 2:1 BA Hons (MA) in Theology. After that, they attended the College of Law where they got a Merit in the Common Professional Examination (CPE), a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course (LPC), and a Solicitor Advocacy.

Kate Varah reports to Rufus Norris, Chief Executive & Director. Kate Varah works with Emily Lim - Resident Director, Clint Dyer - Deputy Artistic Director.
