Mentor Playwright at National Theatre

Martin Murphy is an experienced theatre professional, currently serving as a Mentor Playwright at the National Theatre since November 2017, where leadership in workshops for New Views and Writing for Theatre programmes is a key responsibility. As Executive Director of Bruised Sky Productions since 2009, notable writing credits include plays such as Victim, Worlds, Villain, and Manor, with directing credits that feature Villain and Victim, both published by Bloomsbury Methuen Drama. As a writer and facilitator at Park Theatre from April 2020 to December 2023, the production Jury earned recognition with an On Comm "Offie" award. Murphy's previous roles include writer and performer with Pistol and Jack and associate director for youth theatre at Arc Theatre, along with various positions at Soho Theatre and The Royal Court Theatre.
