Carl Schultheisz is a highly experienced professional with a strong background in aeronautics and engineering. Since June 2002, Carl has served as the Chief of the Vehicle Performance Division at the National Transportation Safety Board, where leadership is provided to a team of 10 in delivering specialized support in aeronautical and mechanical engineering, biomechanics, and accident reconstruction. Prior to this role, Carl worked as a Materials Research Engineer at the same agency, focusing on structural analysis and failure analysis across various transportation modes. Carl's earlier tenure at the Polymers Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology involved leading projects aimed at assessing the durability of composite materials in wet environments. Educational qualifications include a PhD and MS in Aeronautics from Caltech, as well as a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland.
