Daniel McClay

Daniel McClay is an accomplished maritime professional currently serving as a Major Marine Accident Investigator (Nautical) for the National Transportation Safety Board since December 2023. With extensive experience in various leadership roles, Daniel has worked as a Licensed Master and 2nd Mate on Ship Assist Towing Vessels at McAllister Towing since 2018, and previously held similar positions at Moran Towing Corporation. Daniel's background includes a tenure as District Manager at Husqvarna Construction Products, overseeing over 30 client accounts, and serving as Director of Safety and Security in the US Navy, responsible for managing personnel and ensuring safety at the United States Naval Academy. Daniel also held roles in navigation and information technology management within the Navy. Educational accomplishments include a Master of Science in International Transportation Management from State University of New York Maritime College and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a Finance concentration from Towson University.
