John Morris

John Morris, TSSP, PTSCTP, currently serves as an Accident Investigator in the Signal division at the National Transportation Safety Board, a role assumed in September 2023. Prior to this position, John held the title of Public Utilities Engineer with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from August 2020 to August 2023, managing the MBTA’s safety compliance with various regulations. John's experience also includes significant roles as an Electrical Engineer for Amtrak, where responsibilities involved project planning, installation, and testing of Positive Train Control Systems between March 2015 and August 2020, and as a Signal Maintainer with various companies, including Keolis Commuter Services, Mass Bay Commuter Rail, and CSX, focusing on maintenance and inspection of railroad signal systems. John began his education at Quincy High School, graduating in May 2003.
