Michael Portman

Michael Portman is a Senior Aerospace Engineer specializing in recorders at the National Transportation Safety Board since September 2019, where responsibilities include data recovery and analysis from cockpit voice recorders and flight data recorders. Prior experience includes serving as an Aerospace Engineer at Delta Air Lines from August 2017 to May 2019 and as a Flight Safety Intern, contributing to documentation and analysis of safety incidents. Michael has also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology on a NASA-sponsored research project, and has held internships focusing on vehicle performance and pharmacogenomics research. Michael holds a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Meteorology from Georgia Institute of Technology.
