W. John Kao

W. John Kao is the current President at National Tsing Hua University. Prior to this, they were the Vice President / Pro-Vice Chancellor at The University of Hong Kong from January 2015 to January 2019. W. was also the Associate Executive Director of Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (NIH CTSI) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from January 2012 to January 2015. In addition, they have also served as the Associate Dean and Vice Chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at University of Wisconsin-Madison.

W. John Kao has a Biomedical Engineering degree from Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich, a Chemistry and Chemical Engineering degree from Caltech, an MS and PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Macromolecular Science from Case Western Reserve University, and a BSE in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. W. is certified from (multiple) in PhD AIMBE FBSE FHKIE.
