Joe Atkinson is an experienced communications and campaigns manager, currently serving in that role for the National Union of Students (UK) since April 2019. Previously held positions include Digital Campaigns Lead and Public Affairs Consultant at NUS Wales. Prior to joining NUS, Joe worked at Newsdirect Wales as an Education Account Manager and Culture and Communications Account Manager. Joe's early career included roles as a Digital Content Producer at Cardiff University, Editor and Sport Editor for Cardiff University's student newspaper Gair Rhydd, and a Sports Intern with the BBC. Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies from Cardiff University and an ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management from Portal Training.
