Pól Ó Dochartaigh

Pól Ó Dochartaigh, MRIA, serves as Established Professor of European History at the University of Galway since March 2014, after a decade as Deputy President and Registrar, where responsibilities included academic strategy and quality enhancement. Pól has held various leadership roles, including Member of Council for the Royal Irish Academy and British Irish Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the Board of Directors for the University of Galway's Student Health Unit and Central Applications Office, and Director positions at St. Angela's College and Galway University Foundation. Pól's research focuses on Irish attitudes toward Jews in the twentieth century, with an academic background including a DLitt in German Studies from the University of Nottingham and a PhD in German literature/cultural history.
