Sharon Glynn

Sharon Glynn is a highly experienced academic and researcher in the field of pathology, currently serving as a Professor at the University of Galway since September 2010. In addition to holding previous roles as Associate Professor and Lecturer in Pathology, Sharon is the Director of Laboratory Research for the Prostate Cancer Research Unit at NUI Galway, overseeing multiple PhD students and various research projects. Currently, Sharon also works as a Visiting Scientist and Fulbright Scholar at Houston Methodist Hospital since December 2022. Previous positions include Instructor and Module Coordinator for an MSc in Cancer Research at the National University of Ireland, Galway, and roles at the National Cancer Institute, where significant research focused on breast cancer outcomes and inflammation. Early academic experience includes postdoctoral work at Dublin City University, investigating the impact of statins on melanoma.
