Susanna Leong

Vice Provost, Masters' Programmes & Lifelong Education and Dean, School of Continuing & Lifelong Education at National University of Singapore

Professor Susanna Leong, Vice Provost (Masters' Programmes and Lifelong Education) since January 2018, is responsible for initiatives and programmes on continuous education and training in NUS. Susanna is also Dean of the School of Continuing and Lifelong Education. Prior to that, she was the Vice-Dean, Graduate Studies Office, NUS Business School from 2008 to 2016, and had oversight of the NUS MBA, EMBA and MPAM programmes.

Susanna received her LL.B (Hons) (1989) from NUS and practiced law as a Legal Assistant at two law firms before joining NUS as a Senior Tutor in 1991, and awarded the NUS Overseas Graduate Scholarship to pursue her LL.M (with Merit) (1994) at the University College London. On her return to NUS, she was appointed as a Lecturer and rose through the ranks to full Professorship in the Department of Strategy and Policy in January 2016.

Susanna teaches business-related law modules such as contract, sale of goods and intellectual property to undergraduate and graduate business students in English and Chinese. She has received several teaching awards including the Outstanding Educator Award (Department of Strategy & Policy). With research interests are in intellectual property and technology-related laws, she has published in international and local academic journals. She is the author of “Intellectual Property Law of Singapore" published as part of the Law Practice Series by Academy Publishing. Susanna’s legal writings have been cited and referred to by the Singapore Court of Appeal and the High Court in their judgments.

Susanna is an active contributor to the legal industry and is an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. She is a Senior Fellow at the Intellectual Property Academy of Singapore, a member of The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Centre’s Domain Name Panel, a member of The Regional Centre for Arbitration, Kuala Lumpur (RCAKL) Panel and a member of Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (Hong Kong). She is also a member of the Singapore Copyright Tribunal.
