Tan Kian Woo

Mr Tan Kian Woo is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Kian Woo joined NUS in September 2018 as Vice President (Finance) Designate. He was appointed Vice President (Finance) on 1 October 2018 and assumed his current role on 1 February 2021.

As CFO of NUS, Kian Woo oversees the University’s transformational initiatives and efforts to enhance its financial sustainability, leverage technology to structure the finance function, build finance capabilities and re-engineer business processes.

Kian Woo was previously Vice President, Finance at Sealed Air Corporation, where he held regional CFO positions in Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa. At Sealed Air, Kian Woo provided strong financial leadership in the areas of merger, acquisition and divestiture, as well as business growth and performance.

Prior to this, Kian Woo began his professional career with Arthur Young and was with Unilever for 16 years, where he led finance, IT and logistics in Hong Kong and Singapore; in addition, he was Regional Treasurer, Asia Pacific during 2000 and 2003. He left Unilever as its Commercial Director, Hong Kong in 2006 to join Sealed Air.

Kian Woo graduated from NUS with a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) in 1988, and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant of Singapore.
