Leslie Andrews, MBA, has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries and roles. Leslie is currently serving as the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Advancement at the National Urban League since February 2021. Prior to this, Leslie operated their own consulting firm, Leslie Andrews Consulting, as the Chief Executive Officer and Principal Consultant at Daisy Ventures, LLC. Their expertise in non-profit leadership training, campaign strategy, and board development helped their establish a strong reputation in the field. Additionally, Leslie served as the Senior Director of Strategy for the Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program from August 2018 to August 2020, where they focused on fund development and donor relationship management. Leslie also worked as the Director of Community Relations and Corporate Giving at the Rock Ventures/Quicken Loans Family of Companies from July 2012 to July 2017, responsible for developing philanthropic and community development strategies. Prior to that, Leslie worked as the Michigan Area Development Director for the United Negro College Fund from July 2004 to July 2012, and as a Senior Account Manager/Marketing Consultant for WJLB Radio, Clear Channel Communications from September 1995 to July 2004. Throughout their career, Leslie has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills.
Leslie Andrews, MBA, has a diverse educational background that spans multiple fields of study. In 1984, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Spelman College. Following that, in 1996, they completed a Certificate program in Facilitating from Creative Resources Group and a Certificate program in Marketing/Marketing Management from the Radio Advertising Bureau.
Leslie pursued further education in 2001 and obtained a Certificate in Fund Development from the Indiana University/Purdue University School of Philanthropy. Later, in 2014, they enrolled at Northcentral University and completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Marketing by 2016.
Leslie recently continued their academic journey by pursuing a field of study in Cultural Anthropology at Wayne State University starting from 2021. Leslie is presently enrolled in the program.
In addition to their formal education, Leslie has also obtained certifications to enhance their professional skills. In 2021, they obtained a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education. Moreover, in 2023, they were recognized as a Graduate by The Campaign School at Yale.
