Shelby Diehl is currently serving as the Southeast Forestry Communications Specialist at the National Wildlife Federation, where responsibilities include researching and creating communications on forestry topics, developing the Longleaf for All Docuseries, and coordinating outreach events. Previous roles include Forest Community Outreach Intern, Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Campus Organizing Fellow at NC Conservation Network, and Earth for Life Communications Intern at World Wildlife Fund. Shelby has also held leadership positions such as Chapter President and Secretary for 350.org, actively engaging in climate action initiatives. Education includes a B.S. in Environmental Science - Conservation and a B.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, with graduation set for May 2024.
