Charles Kunaka

Charles Kunaka, MBA, PMP, Realtor has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Charles is currently serving as the Chief Information Officer at the National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP), where they manage information technology contracts, organizational network and security, and procurement of technology assets. Prior to this, they worked as the Director of Information Technology at NYAP, overseeing the development of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and managing larger scale organizational projects.

Before joining NYAP, Charles worked as a Senior Project Manager at Fiserv, where they planned, coordinated, and monitored larger scale projects with a high degree of complexity and risk. Charles also implemented project management process improvements in areas such as quality, communications, and risk management.

In addition, Charles has experience as a Senior IT Project Manager at the State of Michigan, where they provided leadership to functional teams and developed project scope, cost estimates, and work plans. Prior to that, they worked as a Project Manager and Technical Business Analyst at Arrow Electronics/Redemtech Inc, where they managed multiple projects and demonstrated technical and leadership abilities.

Charles also has experience in sales and business analysis, having worked as an Inside Sales/Business Analyst at Yaskawa Electric America. Charles managed a large sales volume and developed partnering relationships with suppliers and customers. Charles also assisted in the implementation of a SAP CRM system to improve sales order management and overall supply chain management.

Early in their career, Charles worked as an Assistant Branch Manager at the Central African Building Society (CABS), where they assisted clients with investment options, resolved customer queries, and handled bank teller duties.

Charles Kunaka has a Master's degree in Project Management from Keller University, which they obtained from 2010 to 2012. Their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science is from Franklin University as well, completed from 2001 to 2004. Charles Kunaka is also a certified Project Management Professional, having obtained this certification from the Project Management Institute in June 2013.
