Mark Ettema

Mark Ettema's work experience includes the following roles:

1. Lead Developer Design System at Nationale-Nederlanden (since November 2021). Mark is responsible for shaping and sharing the tech vision of NN's design system.

2. Lead Software Developer (remote) and Senior Front-end Developer (remote MEX/NL) at GeoPhy. Mark held these positions from November 2019 to November 2021.

3. Senior Front-end Developer at Coolblue from August 2016 to November 2019.

4. Senior Front-end Developer and Front-end Developer at Mirabeau. Mark worked on rebuilding the booking flow for Transavia while at Mirabeau from December 2014 to August 2016. Mark also contributed to projects for clients like KLM, Funda, and ING from February 2013 to December 2014.

5. Initiator at Open Kantoor Route from June 2012 to February 2013.

6. Practical trainer/mentor and Entrepeneur/Front-end Developer/Graphic Designer at P-mex webdesign. Mark trained and supervised interns and managed the front-end development aspects of the business from September 2010 to February 2013.

7. Chairman, Secretary, and General Board Member at Jonge Ondernemers IJmond from February 2009 to February 2013. Mark contributed to this entrepreneurs association.

8. Junior Graphic Designer at Niek Braun BV from September 2007 to April 2009. Mark worked on web design, graphic design, sign, and expo projects.

9. Sales team member at Hostnet BV from August 2006 to August 2007, where they handled customer service and gained knowledge in domain name registry and DNS.

Mark Ettema has a diverse education history. Mark obtained a Conversational degree in Spanish from BijlescentraleHaarlem from 2022 to 2024. Prior to that, they achieved a Pre-intermediate/intermediate degree in Spanish from Vamos Spanish Lessons (Mexico City) in 2019-2020. In 2017, Mark completed a Masterclass English program, earning an Advanced degree in Cambridge English. Mark also studied Spanish at SpaansHaarlem, AIL Madrid, and Trifork, reaching Pre-intermediate and Beginner levels. In terms of language studies, Mark also completed Upper Intermediate courses in English at Hart Haarlem and St Giles International London Central. Additionally, they received training in AngularJS from Trifork in 2015. Mark has further certifications in Data Structures and Algorithmic Toolbox from Coursera, as well as a Cambridge English: First (FCE) certification from Cambridge English Language Assessment and a Professional Scrum Master I certification from Scrum.org, both obtained in 2014.
